A Time to Reflect

A group of marchers takes the time to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a Silent March

Neither the rain nor the afternoon chill discouraged a small band of marchers from honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Tuesday, Jan. 19. The group, composed of faculty and staff members and students conducted their Silent March from UCSB’s Cheadle Hall through campus in honor of the civil rights leader’s life and work. According to Aaron Jones, president of the Graduate Students Association and one of the leaders of the march, the walk is a time for participants to “give silent reflection on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy.”
