Two books on Spanish literature were recently published in Spain by Victor Fuentes, chairman of the Spanish and Portuguese Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

La Regenta, a critical edition of the great 19th Century Spanish novel of the same title by Leopoldo Alas "Clar'n,"

was published in August.

Out this month is Poesia Bohemia Española:

Antologia de Temas y Figuras

(Spanish Bohemian Poetry: An Anthology of Themes and Figures). The poems by bohemian writers included in the anthology were writen in the mid- to late- 1800s through the 1930s.

Fuentes, a member of the UCSB faculty since 1965, specializes in 19th and 20th century Spanish literature and film and contemporary Latin American drama and poetry.
