Area Students Receive UCSB Chancellor's Scholarships

Twenty-four high school graduates from Kern, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties will enter UC Santa Barbara this fall as Chancellor's scholars.

The incoming freshmen will receive $2,000 a year for four years.

These need-based scholarships have been awarded to students who have achieved outstanding academic success in high schools served by the Early Academic Outreach Program at UCSB in the Tri- and Kern County outreach service area.

The scholarship program is a collaboration among the UCSB offices of Financial Aid, Educational Opportunity Program, and Admissions and Outreach Services.
