The UCSB Foundation Elects New Trustees

The UCSB Foundation, which administers private gifts to UC Santa Barbara, has elected its officers for 2000-2001. Trustees of The UCSB Foundation encourage philanthropic support for university priorities campuswide.

William R. Rauth III, '66, partner, Stradling, Yocca, Carlson & Rauth, Corona Del Mar, was elected chair of the board. He succeeds Richard Auhll, retired chairman of Circon Corporation, Santa Barbara.

Other officers elected were Dexter J. Goodell, '61, Goodell Investments, Santa Barbara, vice chair for development; Hubert D. Vos, Stonington Capital Corporation, Santa Barbara, vice chair, finance, and treasurer; R. Marilyn Lee, '69, retired Los Angeles Times administrator, vice chair, stewardship and allocations; and Mark D. Linehan, '85, president, Wynmark Company, Santa Barbara, secretary.

In addition, the following were elected trustees of the foundation through June 30: Judith Hopkinson, UC Regent, Santa Barbara; Ken Khachigian, '66, Smiland & Khachigian, San Clemente; William Dinsmore, '68, venture capitalist, Alamo; Cathy Lodes, '79, philanthropist and volunteer, Menlo Park; Jean Schuyler, philanthropist and volunteer, Santa Barbara; Barry Schuyler, '61, retired UCSB lecturer, Santa Barbara; and Norman Sprague III, '69, orthopedic surgeon, Santa Barbara.

The board consists of a total of 67 elected and 14 appointed trustees who provide leadership in helping to raise gifts and recognize donors to UCSB.
