Holiday Fire Update

The campus is open and fully operational.

Monday, July 9

Santa Barbara County fire officials have announced containment of the Holiday Fire at 90 percent.

Sunday, July 8

As of 6 p.m., the remaining area under mandatory evacuation has been downgraded to an exclusionary zone, meaning it is open to residents only.

Saturday, July 7

Santa Barbara County fire officials have announced containment of the Holiday Fire at 80 percent. As of 5 p.m., the mandatory evacuation order is downgraded to an evacuation warning for most areas. Mandatory evacuation will continue for those neighborhoods accessed via N. Fairview Avenue above the intersection with N. La Goleta Road. The Red Cross emergency shelter at the Goleta Community Center remains open.

Friday, July 6

• Santa Barbara County reports a fire north of campus in Goleta (north of Cathedral Oaks Road and Fairview Avenue). County fire officials are responding and the campus is not currently under any immediate physical threat, but campus officials are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
