Starting a New Life at UCSB

A freshman arriving at UCSB is always exciting news. But in the case of Trayniesha Taylor from Bakersfield, it's a life-changing event.

Trayniesha Taylor is from Bakersfield, and the first person in her family to attend a UC school. Coming to UC Santa Barbara is "the greatest opportunity for me," after a difficult childhood. We followed her during Move-In Weekend as she settled into her residence hall. "I feel like this is my home already," she says. Take a few minutes and learn more about this remarkable freshman.
