The MFA Open Studios event reflects 15 different ways of making, 15 different her/histories, 15 different opportunities to feel something new. Work by Maiza Hixson, Lucy Holtsnider, Robert Huerta, Madeleine Ignon, Daria Izad, Adam Jahnke, Jennifer Lugris, Kayla Mattes, Jimmy Miracle, Andrew Morrison, Carlos Ochoa, Elisa Ortega, Toni Scott, Echo Theohar and Christopher Velasco will be exhibited Friday, November 17th, 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. The show will be held in the Department of Art Graduate Studios, located beneath the Harder Stadium bleachers closest to Stadium Road. The Department of Art at the University of California Santa Barbara is committed to a transdisciplinary approach to arts education. The arts are responsible for some of the most historically significant and enduring manifestations of culture. At UCSB, artists are provided with the necessary resources to develop their practice and contribute to the social fabric of their time.
