Caltrans reports that Highway 101 is open in both directions in Ventura County, but is closed farther south near the border with Los Angeles County.

Thursday, November 8

A brush fire is burning in Ventura County in the area of Hill Canyon. State officials have closed Highway 101 in both directions between Pleasant Valley/Santa Rosa Road and Borchard Road and are directing travelers to alternate routes.
