UCSB VICE CHANCELLOR FEATURED ON TV DOCUMENTARY

France Cordova, vice chancellor for research at UCSB,

will be a featured space expert in the upcoming KCET documentary, "Life Beyond Earth," scheduled for broadcast on Wednesday, Nov. 10th locally on Cox Channel 10 from 8 to 10 p.m.

Cordova, a professor of physics and head of UCSB's Office of Research was the chief scientist of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) before coming to UCSB in 1996.

Formerly a professor and head of astronomy and astrophysics at Pennsylvania State University, Cordova subsequently worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, where she was successively a staff scientist in the earth and space division and deputy leader of the space astronomy and astrophysics group.

As vice chancellor for research, Cordova is the principal coordinator of all research activities at UCSB.

As a member of the physics department, she continues her research in astrophysics.
