LAKERS SCRIMMAGE TICKETS TO BE PASSED OUT FRIDAY

Tickets to the Los Angeles Lakers Sunday, Oct. 10 scrimmage at UCSB will be distributed to the community Friday beginning at 1 p.m.

The Lakers will conduct a preseason training camp on the UCSB campus from Tuesday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 11, but only the 7 p.m. Sunday scrimmage will be open to the public.

Doors will open Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at the UCSB Campus Events Center, with festivities beginning at 6 and the scrimmage beginning at 7.

Tickets will be distributed free on a first-come, first-served basis at the following sites beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday:

·McKenzie Park City Recreation Building

·Santa Barbara Boys & Girls Club Eastside

·Carpinteria Boys & Girls Club

·Goleta Boys & Girls Club

·Lompoc Boys & Girls Club

·Santa Ynez YMCA

Each site will be allotted 200 tickets.

Recipients are allowed one ticket per person.

Another 1,000 tickets will be distributed to Santa Barbara-area schools to be handed out to students who have demonstrated outstanding scholarship or citizenship during the school year.

The tickets have been made available courtesy of the Los Angeles Lakers and the UCSB Department of Physical Activities & Recreation.
