CONFERENCE FOR PROFESSIONAL WOMEN WILL BE MAY 24

UCSB Professional Women's Association (PWA) will highlight women and careers, families, health, and community involvement in its third annual conference titled "Celebrating Women: Our Accomplishments & Our Challenges" on Monday, May 24, at the campus' Corwin Pavilion.

Open to the public, the event will begin with a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. Keynote speaker is Jan Alpert, UCSB alumnus and president of LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc. Workshops will focus on a variety of professional and personal development topics designed to enhance work skills.

Founded in January 1993, UCSB's PWA has over 300 members, which include faculty, staff, students, alumni, and affiliate group members of both sexes. PWA is active in extensive community outreach projects including support for homeless school children and book scholarships for UCSB re-entry students.
