UC SANTA BARBARA WELCOMES UNIVERSITY-BOUND STUDENTS

High school and community college students and their families are invited to the University of California, Santa Barbara for the campus's Fall Preview Open House from

Monday, October 12, through Saturday, October 31---excluding Sundays.

"UCSB opens its doors for three weeks to give students greater opportunities to get a feel for the campus and life as a university student," says Reza Garajedaghi, tours coordinator for UCSB's Visitor Center.

Designed to provide prospective students and their families with information about UC Santa Barbara, the event will offer general sessions on admissions, the honors program, and financial aid; briefings about departments and majors; and campus tours.

In addition, students will have an opportunity to observe classes in session and visit residence halls and the adjacent community of Isla Vista.

Presentations will be at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. Campus tours will be at 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m. Guests should come to the Visitor Center, which is located in UCSB's new Student Affairs and Administrative Services Building. Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more. There is a $5 parking fee, except on Saturdays. For further information, contact the Office of Relations with Schools at (805) 893-2487.
